DSM Continued

I forgot a couple things:

11. Von Maur - the best department store ever.

12. The grass. I hate the grass in Florida, it is gross (I am saying gross now, because Kaci says it all of the time).

13. Knowing the TV stations - I know that ABC is 5, CBS is 8, NBC is 13, and Fox is 6 without looking it up.

Things I miss about Des Moines

I've been spending a lot of time in Des Moines the past few weeks, and last night I realized I should make a list of reasons I miss living here.

1. If you want to buy fruit at 11 pm, in Iowa you don't have to worry if there is going to be a grocery store open. You know that Hy-Vee is open and is going to be all night and every day except Christmas.

2. I have great friends here that I can always rely on.

3. My family is all here. They are pretty great.

4. At one time, it was important in my life that I could go to Hy-Vee at 1:45 am and buy alcohol. Not so important anymore.

5. I know my way around really well. No need for the GPS.

6. I don't really miss it, because it wasn't the case when I lived here. But woo hoo for gay marriage being legal in Iowa!

7. I miss the seasons a little bit (minus the snow, I barely miss that).

8. I miss the idea of it snowing on Sunday, sitting by the fire, and reading a book.

9. I miss going to Iowa Cub's games. For some reason no other minor league baseball team compares. Those games are just so much fun.

10. I miss living in non-ACC, non-SEC country. Go Big Ten!

Starting to get Uncomfortable

I'm officially starting to get uncomfortable. Last night I feel asleep on the couch, when I woke up like 1.5 hours later, I was super stiff. It was very difficult to just get up. Flying this weekend should be interesting =).

33 week belly pic

Only six weeks to go! I had an appointment yesterday, my belly measured 33 weeks, so I am tracking normal so far.

MN Shower

Two weeks ago I had a shower in MN. It was a gift card shower. So it was pretty boring to actually open up the presents, but it was loads of fun shopping! Above is a pic of everything we got! The best part is we still have more gift cards to spend!!

The weekend

I was home this past weekend. I saw a bunch of my mom's family - my aunts and uncles and some cousins. They were all so nice; they have how to the compliment the pregnant lady down. They all said that I looked really good, and they were much bigger than me. Perfect things to say!

Kelsey and Kaci both got to feel Graham move. Their reactions were awesome. They appreciated it much more than John does.

I added FBF (facebook friend) to urbandictionary.com - go there and give my definition a thumbs up, and the other ones a thumbs down. I'm not sure what that accomplishes, but hopefully it eliminates the other FBF definitions and leaves mine to stand alone. FBF is something Kaci came up with, I just put it on the website.

Belly Pic - 32 weeks

54 Days

The baby says I have 54 days until my due date, that means I'll be a mom in 47 days or less. It seems like yesterday that the counter was at 100 days. Yikes and yay at the same time.

Crazy things people have told me

Today at lunch the cashier asked me how far along I was. I told her. She told me she had her baby a couple weeks earlier than me, and went on to tell me how her baby died and she was suing the hospital or doctor. For future reference to everyone out there - I think it is best to not tell a pregnant person a story like that.

At starbucks (or sbux like John and I call it) a few weeks ago, I was waiting for my drink. A woman came up to me and started talking to me. She told me that I looked really big for how far alone I was, and actually touched my belly. I don't care if friends or family touch my belly, but a complete stranger?!?! She didn't even know my name. Plus it really annoys me when someone says I am either "small" or "big". Don't they realize that just makes the pregnant person paranoid about what they should look like and there might be something wrong with the baby?

Last night I went to Old Navy and Baby Gap to look at baby clothes, I was of course wearing Kinsey's bar crawl shirt, and no strangers talked to me. Maybe wearing a shirt with a bunch of shot glasses on it convinces people I am a bad person, and they don't want to talk to a bad person. =)

Found a seat cushion!

Carey (a co-worker) gave John and I this rocking chair. It had a seat cushion that really didn't go with the room. I tried to find a green cushion online with the correct dimensions and failed miserably. Tonight I was at the Town Center and on a whim decided to see what Pier One had for cushions. They had a green one that looked about the right size. I brought it home expecting it to be completely wrong, but it works! How exciting!

Tomorrow it will be two months until Graham's birthday. Craziness! He has been moving around like crazy lately. He always calms right down when I tell John to feel my stomach. John doesn't have the patience to sit next to me all evening waiting for Graham to kick. Pretty lame of John. =)
